Air Fryer frozen wings are so easy to make! And they're crisp and delicious. Cooking frozen chicken wings in the air fryer gets them crisp on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. And you can make them in less time than it takes to bake them in the oven or deep-fry them. Instructions provided for raw and precooked frozen wings.
Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees for 4 minutes.
Add the frozen wings to the air fryer basket without overlapping or overcrowding. Cook in multiple batches if needed.
Frozen Precooked Chicken Wings
Program the air fryer to 400 degrees F for 11 to 15 minutes, turning the wings at 6 minutes into cooking. If any wings are stuck together when you begin, separate them after about 3 minutes of air frying.
When the cooking time is up, open the air fryer and check to make sure the wings are cooked to your liking. Air fry for another 1-2 minutes if needed.
Add your favorite sauce to a medium bowl and coat the wings in the sauce before serving.
Frozen Raw Chicken Wings
Program the air fryer to 400 degrees F for 20-25 minutes.
If any wings are stuck together when you begin, separate them after about 3 minutes of air frying.
After 10 minutes of total cooking, transfer the wings to a medium bowl, using a pair of tongs. Stir together oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder (or your favorite seasonings) and toss with the chicken wings. If there is a lot of liquid in the basket, you can drain it at this time. **
Return the chicken to the air fryer and continue air frying, turning the chicken after 6 minutes. Spray the wings with a bit of oil, if desired.
When the time's up, check to make sure the wings are crispy and cooked through. Air fry for another 2 to 3 minutes, if necessary.
Add your favorite wing sauce to a medium bowl and coat the wings in the sauce before serving.
Notes
Note: Every air fryer's cooking time will vary due to wattage, capacity, and other factors. Always check on the food 2 to 3 minutes before the time is up to make sure it's not burning or overcooking!
* Precooked wings can be breaded or unbreaded. They're pre-cooked with spices, so you don't have to add any spices when reheating them from frozen. Raw wings will need spices added once they've thawed.
Cook time may be more or less depending on the size of the wings, so keep an eye on them for the last 4 minutes to make sure they aren't overcooking.
Chicken wings are cooked through when a digital meat thermometer registers 165 degrees in the thickest piece.
** I don't usually drain any liquid that's accumulated in the basket because it evaporates by the end of the cooking process.
